This week I’ve learned a few things. I like that. Learning is great. I want to do more of it!

Recently that I have become obsessed with hallway designs and constantly pinning every hallway I come across.

Y’all! This may sound crazy, but I love to color! You know those new coloring books for grown ups, yep totally digging them. And when I’m feeling stressed, these totally help. And I’m convinced that your skin, health, body reacts badly when forced to deal with stress, in ways no one can imagine possible. Not cool. But thankfully  I’ve always enjoyed coloring and this just calms me down, like listening to music (and joining in too), hand embroidery, swinging on a swing set and knitting can do. If you don’t dig coloring, you should try one of those instead to destress. It helps, I tell ya!

Fall is in full swing, which means it’s officially my favorite time of the year! I absolutely love being able to wear jackets, scarves, and boots! Sometimes I buy products and think, “Oh my God, what was I thinking? This is far too expensive!” This is within minutes of buying something. I get this often, and the majority of times, it works out.

 Elix and I are on a little health kick at the moment – more exercise, nutritious food, no snacking (me especially as i do love an evening peanut m&m’s treat) – anyway we are making good use of Jamie Oliver’s Superfood book for recipe inspiration and nutrition advice.

A brunch for an accidentally sore head. I have recently, and most unexpectedly, started craving “healthy” hangover food. As someone who spent the last three years testing how many hangover dishes you can improve with bacon (answer: all), no one was more surprised than me. But, I didn’t want to do anything strenuous and I wanted it to have vegetables. And so, the root vegetable rosti was born. You can use any root vegetables that you have lying around, and you can add grated onion, garlic, herbs or chilli if you wanted extra flavour.

Eating really is fun, isn't it? It is probably the most agreed upon expression of culture and community around the world. No matter where you go or what you celebrate, food is almost always the center peg around which everything else revolves.

8 things to do when you're bored instead of eat

How hard could writing a letter be? And that too to a toddler?! I started writing one to Madhav about, wait, 4 days ago, and haven’t finished it yet! Every time I jot a sentence down, it comes out clunky, shallow and I have to scratch it out. Something’s been bothering me lately, and I’m unable to figure out what it is. There’s so much going on around and within me, that I’m finding it difficult to function normally. As I write this, I hear my neighbors fighting; I listen to family members hurling abuses on one another, women screaming and men shouting. I go outside to check what’s happening. I decide to call the police when the sounds of a whip thrashing falls on my ears. But my family restrains me- The man next door is notorious and it’s a family matter and we better mind our own business, they tell me. Apparently, when something like this happened in the past and someone threatened to call the police, it didn’t work out as hoped. My legs still shaking with fear and anger, I return to my notepad.
